As of about 11:00 AM CST. Authorize.net has been faced with a system wide “downed service”. This is considered a very rare occurrence being that the issue is network wide. It is quite possible, that 1000’s if not Millions of customers are experiencing a downed service with Authorize.net transactional gateway services.

This is short of a catastrophe, considering that Authorize.net is one of the most popular gatewate services to serve a very significant number of online e-commerce portals and shops. Can you imagine how many websites are seeing a drop or loss in sales because of this hiccup? The numbers are stacking up, and quick! We will update more once we have additionaly information form Authorize.net for comment.

Currently, the phones are automatically redirecting to an automated message – “We are aware of an issue this is currently affecting access to the merchant interface and transaction processing for some merchants, we are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience… please be aware that you will experienced a longer than normal hold time.”

A quick peak into the Authorize.net SLA indicates that, YES Authorize.net is in fact imperfect and is prone to just about anything that any web based system might exeprience, even including “user error.” Quick, someone hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and get this thing rebooted! How many of you are being affected by the outage?

Authorize.net Services are computer network-based services, which may be subject to outages, interruptions, attacks by third parties and delay occurrences.
