It appears that the Apple Online Store store.apple.com has ultimately zipped right past the opening deadline for the iPhone 6 Pre-Orders. This launch 12:01 AM PST launch schedule was previously verified by Apple Store “Business” executives, along with AT&T and some others.
At the time of this writing, 1 hour beyond the “12:01, Pacific, and 2:01 Central time” , the Online Apple Store remains yet to be opened.
However, after dialing into the IRC forums, I checked with the #iphonedev channel on Freenode. I found that a few like-minded techies mentioned that they were starting to see success by ordering via the Apple Store Mobile App or by way of the My AT&T App. Luckily, I was also successful myself in ordering directly from Att.com.
I noticed, very quickly via the Apple Online store, that all but the iPhone 6 16GB Variant were sold out. That means, you won’t find an iPhone 6 Plus for pre-order today. Don’t Fret! You can try to give it another whirl the following day, what’s 24 more hours while waiting from the comfort of your own home?
Apple typically has stock flowing from 1 day to the next, so don’t be overly disgruntled if you are not able to order today, or the next. Check back, nightly around 12:00 AM PST, 2:00 AM CST, 1:00 AM EST and you may find some success! The availability will also likely shift towards 11:00 AM CST pre-ordering, for next day In-Store Pickup, starting on the 19th, as that is typically when the inventory stock updates for most of the Apple Stores (and again,) depending on the time zone.
For those who may get stuck having to wait, but currently have a previous generation iPhone, fear not ! You can still get the “Free” iOS 8 Update , for eligible devices!
Have you had any success ordering, and where from did you succeed?
