Kindle started its tablet business with the main goal of catering to book readers everywhere in the world. With its traditional e-ink technology, it captured the hearts of their niche market by providing a quality reading platform that enables people to read anywhere.
Now with all manners of tablets popping up, Kindle is keeping up with competitor innovations. And to protect their market share they have released their latest in budget tablets, and within the line up of new tablets is the Kindle Fire HD
The Kindle Fire HD keeps to its roots by first concentrating their efforts to bring a quality gadget to readers by keeping all the eReaders capability that Kindle fans have come to love. Featuring a 7 inch high definition LCD display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, it provides crystal clear visual to its users. The lightweight tablet comes in only 12.2 ounces with dimensions of being 7.5 inches long, 5 inches wide and 0.42 inches thick. The Kindle can exceed up to 10 hours of battery life if you mainly use it for reading but this might change once you start using the tablets other features.
Speaking of other features.
Aside from the usual ebooks, the Kindle also has the capability to read videos, pictures, and music. It also has administrative applications like the calculator and calendar to add to the layer of this device. The wi-fi capable Kindle Fire HD also allows the user to surf the web, send e-mails, utilize social media, and stream videos. To support this abilities the Kindle possesses a 1.5ghz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, and an 8GB memory to store your ebooks, music, video and other media.
For connectivity the Kindle Fire HD has a 2.0 Micro-B connector to allow for easier connection with your PC or Mac. Even though its WI-fi capable the Kindle fire HD isn’t capable of 3g,4g, LTE connection.
Another downside of the Kindle Fire HD is the lack of the front facing and back facing camera unlike other tablets, but we would like to assume that readers don’t really mind the missing camera since they would be too busy reading.
The Kindle Fire HD is now available for purchase, and for those who wish to have more storage space they have also released the 16GB version of the tablet.
