Motorola is giving it another shot and is trying to get back in the game with its new flagship phone the Motorola Moto X 2014. Having fallen short with the first Moto X, Motorola is bouncing back and it looks like they’ve learned from their mistakes. They’ve now picked up the slack and delivered quite a good looking android phone in its 2014 model.
The Motorola Moto X 2nd generation
First, a look back in the past, after having acquired Motorola mobility, Motorola was ready to release their first android smart phone flagship and called it the Moto X. Although having brought some sensible innovations into the table with its voice control technology that made it easier to manipulate the phone with one hand, it still failed to get enough consumers following.
Fast forward to the present day and Motorola is here to redeem itself. At first look you could already see that this phone is an improvement from its predecessor. Moto X gen 2 stepped up its game on the looks and feel department by bringing in more options for its back cover. Moto X gives you a choice of 3 different materials with 4 different color for each material, whether in plastic, wood, or leather finishes. On top of that it has a sleek metallic frame that is a far cry from the all plastic the 1st gen had.
It grew up a little too, from the previous 4.7” touchscreen to a 5.2” AMOLED screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution in full HD.
Keeping the good ideas.
One thing that Motorola had right was the idea of making the phone as hands-free as possible and they kept that going with the 2nd gen Moto X. Keeping the Moto Voice, Motorolas always on voice assistant but adding a few improvements by adjusting its voice commands to make it easier. It also added a few more hands free innovations such as Moto Actions that gives the user the ability control the phone just by doing some hand signals. And even more are its features that read out your text to even customizable modes to fit your daily activity.
Release Date and price.
Motorola is set to release the phone to be sold on Amazon at the end of September with a price tag of $676 (419.99 pounds) for the 16GB and slightly higher price for the 32 GB. Prices will also vary depending on which back cover you choose to use.
