It seems to be getting quite close to the point where there are more Samsung smartphones than all other smartphones put together, but Samsung aren’t slowing down with their niche releases. Their next upcoming device is rumored to be the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, and if reports about the phone can be trusted, we can expect it to be a supreme selfie snapper.
Like the devices within the Grand lineup before it, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime comes with a rather large display of 5 inches. Samsung has strangely gone for a qHD (960x540P) resolution for the Grand Prime, and whilst this isn’t a terrible display for what’s expected to be a budget to mid-range device, it’s display is actually worse than the 720P 5.25 inch Grand 2, which was released before the Prime.
The display of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is not the main focus of the device though; instead, the 5 Megapixel front facing camera on the Grand Prime takes the spotlight. Whilst most primary cameras are much better, it’s rare to see such a high megapixel count on front-facing cameras, and it’s bound to go down well with anybody who can’t take a day out without snapping a few selfies.
On the inside, those hoping to own the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime can expect to find a Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Grand Prime also has an 8 Megapixel primary camera, which is pretty much the standard for the bulk of Samsung budget and mid-range handsets today.
So far, we’ve only heard rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime releasing in Vietnam, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the new Samsung smartphone were to be released in other regions shortly as well. Currently, pricing details are also unknown, but It’s likely the device will get a fairly cheap price tag, as far as Samsung smartphones go anyway.
