Sims 3 Supernatural Expansion Pack, Contents
EA certainly knows how to keep on milking cash from Sims fans. Today they announced their billionth (yes, I said billionth, and that’s the number I’m sticking to) expansion pack for the Sims 3, the Sims 3 Supernatural Expansion Pack. Here we’ll cover all of the gods you can look forward to with the expansion and see whether or not it is worth your hard earned simoleons.
Expanding the Sims Nightlife Concept
In the Sims Night Life Expansion, the option to have your Sim encounter and even become a vampire was made available to players. This was a pretty novel idea and one that turned up some interesting gameplay options. The only problem was that it didn’t add much to the overall gameplay experience. Now, with the Supernatural expansion, it looks like players will get a bit of a gameplay boost with the ability to create characters that range from fairies, werewolves, vampires, and witches. The game will also feature things like zombie attacks and even a whole new town.
Odd Bonuses
One of the most interesting aspects of the new expansion is how it ties directly to EA’s acquirement of Popcap Games. Pre-ordered expansions will have bonus content in the forms of Plants Vs. Zombies related items. Specifically, whenever the player finds their home in the game under attack from the living dead, they can plant the iconic Peashooters from Plants Vs. Zombies to take them down. This adds an extra bit of fun for gamers who are not content with merely doing day to day tasks with their characters.
Is It Worth It?
For some reason Sims fans seem to be perfectly content with buying whatever EA shells out for the casual gaming juggernaut. There’s nothing wrong with that either. The fact is that the Sims 3 is an almost perfect game in the sense that it achieves everything that it sets out to do. If you’re a Sims fan and want those new character types and extra town, then you should definitely go for it. If you are a Sims fan that wants a little Plants Vs. Zombies action in your Simming as well, then it’s definitely worth a pre-order.
